How to Plan a Private Label Wheel Range

Plan a private label wheel range by choosing the first applications, defining branding, approving samples and keeping repeat orders consistent.

Choose the first applications before adding designs

Choose the first vehicle applications before expanding the design catalogue. A preferred style only belongs in the range if the offered specifications support the applications you intend to sell.

Build an assortment sheet with model, dimensions, mounting specification, finish, cap and opening quantity. Mark unconfirmed fitments. The sheet gives both parties a defined range to discuss when minimums and development work are priced.

Existing design, modified design or new development?

Starting pointWhat to settle first
Existing design with your brandingPermission to use the design, supported branding and product identification
Modified designMarked changes, drawing responsibility and any new validation
New designEngineering inputs, development cost, ownership and sample approval

Cap branding, geometry changes and a new wheel design require different work. State which route you mean. Record the permitted use of designs and artwork in the order documents; finding a public image does not grant those rights.

Define the deliverables before planning the launch

DeliverableWhat the buyer should be able to inspect
Product definitionIdentified model or controlled drawing and the actual offered specifications
Brand treatmentCap dimensions and artwork placement; supported marking method
Physical referencesAgreed finish sample and cap / packaging approval set
Validation planWho reviews the changes and which product / test evidence is required
Supply recordPart identifiers and revisions usable for the next order

Agree which of these outputs the supplier will deliver. An existing approved reference may cover some items; a new design may require new work. The table is a proposed project checklist, not a list of confirmed NOST TECH services.

Approve the physical details, not just the render

Provide editable artwork, proposed placement and the required cap dimensions and attachment method. A mockup shows placement. A physical reference lets the buyer compare the finish and parts with later production.

BC Forged explains that dimensions and brake clearance affect concavity. Review each offered profile before advertising the same deep-concave appearance across the range.

Record the wheel, finish, cap and carton-artwork revisions together. A supplier should be able to identify the exact combination that was approved.

Keep decorative branding and product identity readable

Choose part references that let the receiving team distinguish sizes and finishes without opening every carton. Link each reference to its specification and supporting documents.

Review market-specific marking requirements separately. Reserve space for the required identification and agree who supplies it; decorative artwork approval is not the final compliance review.

Make the second order as precise as the first

Retain the accepted sample references, drawings, colour information and cap and carton artwork. Use those identifiers in the reorder, and have any changed finish, component or production arrangement identified before acceptance.

Write down the problem-reporting and replacement process. Agree which order details and photographs are needed, and retain the warranty terms with the product records.

What to prepare for the first discussion

  • The first vehicle applications and intended sales market.
  • An assortment sheet with quantities by size and finish.
  • Your design starting point and the rights to use it.
  • Logo artwork, cap and packaging requirements.
  • The sample and inspection approvals you need.

BC Forged’s ordering page describes email records and profile drawings. For your range, agree the milestones and approval records with the supplier handling the work.

Use the private-label enquiry page to send the initial assortment. Include new-design requirements in the OEM / ODM discussion.

Explore wheel options

Shortlist models from the wheel catalogue before specifying the cap artwork, finish samples and carton requirements for your first range.
